Monticello, Ill., September 14.

Mr. Everette THRASHER of Atwood made a desperate attempt to kill his neighbor, Jas. FITZPATRICK. He shot at him four or five times, but missed his aim. THRASHER was arrested and put under bonds. At his trial today he was found guilty of an attempt on the life of FITZPATRICK and Judge Buglis fined him $50 and costs. Charles JONES was fined $80 and sent to the county jail for selling liquor unlawfully. Benjamin FOREMAN was sent to the reform school at Pontiac, for three years for grand larceny.
