The Wisconsin State Rights has an account of a terrible affair which lately occurred at Rock Grove, Illinois. A young Doctor, named BAUGHMAN, who had been the family physician of a family named SPANGLERS, for several years before, as well as after the death of Mr. SPANGLERS, was one evening recently entering the house to call upon the family, when the hired man suddenly stabbed him fearfully in the right breast and side. But slight hopes are entertained of the Doctor's recovery. It seems that the murderer mistook the Doctor for another man, whom he thought was paying attention to the widow SPANGLERS, and of whom he was jealous. He has since hung himself in the jail at Freeport, with a strip torn from one of his sheets. Dr. BAUGHMAN is mentioned as a young man of much promise, having been thoroughly educated, and of fine literary taste, and has a wife and child residing at Rock Grove.
