DEADWOOD, D. T., March 15.—The jury in the case of Clark Travis and Smith, charged with the murder of Alex. Franklinburg at Lead City last January, returned a verdict of acquittal. Judge Moody severely criticized the action of the jury and intimated strongly they were controlled by corrupt influence.
