Description: A Man Roasted Alive.

Date: November 28 1860

Newspaper published in: Council Bluffs, IA

Jacob SEARS, says the Troy Times of the 8th inst., who has been an inmate at different times of the poor house - that institution being his home during the winter season more particularly - was found this morning lying upon the brick kiln on the Hollow Road, roasted to death. It is supposed that he got upon kiln last evening for the purpose of getting warm, and probably sleeping all night. The gas from the works suffocated him, and he remained upon the hot kiln until his body was roasted and life was extinct. His person presented a horrible sight. SEARS was about forty years of age, and had always been an idle and dissolute fellow.
