Description: A Horrible Death.

Date: March 26 1888

Newspaper published in: St. Louis, MO

Shelbyville, Ill., March 26.

James DAVIS, a prominent farmer, living twelve miles north of this city, went out to milk a cow, yesterday morning and an hour later was found dead in the barnyard, his body partially eaten up by the hogs. His face resembled that of a grinning skeleton and his hands were stripped of flesh to the bones. A coroner's jury decided that heart disease was the cause of his death. He was one of the best known farmers in Shelby County, having lived here over half a century.
