DEATH OF MRS. LORAINE GOULD.
Mrs. Loraine Gould of Rutland, recently convicted of the crime of
malpractice, and who has since been confined at the house of correction,
awaiting sentence, died at the institution Friday evening from
paralysis, although she was also suffering from cancer. It will be
remembering that Mrs, Gould's alleged criminal operation caused the
death of Miss Eva Shaw, a beautiful California girl who had lived a year
or two in Fair Haven. The feeling against H.H. Pitkin, a young business
man of Fair Haven, charged with being Mrs. Gould's accomplice, was so
strong that his trial was postponed until next March.
