THE GRAY SALUTES THE BLUE
Honoring the Dead Hero
MONTGOMERY, Nov. 2.—As a tribute of respect to Gen. Geo. B. McClellan, Col. Thomas C. Jones of the second regiment of Alabama State troops, to-day ordered the Montgomery Artillery to fire a National salute at sunset. Gen. McClellan is universally regarded here by all ex-Confederates as a most valiant and generous foe in the time of the late war.
