Eufaula—A couple of good folks returning from Texas for a Christmas stay in old Barbour, blew out the gas at the Arlington Hotel Sunday night. W. A. Davis, of Anniston, overheard the male end of the combination blowing away at the jet and rang up the clerk. When that individual appeared at the door and inquired if the lodgers knew how to extinguish the gas, the reply came back: “Certainly, I turned the light down a little and then blew it out.” If Will Davis had not been lying awake and thinking about Anniston real estate on Sunday night, there would have been a couple of dead people in the Arlington yesterday.
