BLACKVILLE, S. C., July 18.—The prompt and determined action of the white people of Barnwell County prevented any further trouble at the Kears settlement. Most of the detachment of the military who went to Kears at the call of the people have departed. One white man was killed. A negro named Grant was killed. Several white men were wounded, but are getting along as well as can be expected. Mr. Kears is probably fatally wounded.
