POUGHKEEPSIE, Aug. 4.—[Special.]--Capt. Allan Glass, one of the oldest steamboat men on the Hudson, died at the Vassar Hospital today after a medical operation.

Charged With a Heinous Crime
POUGHKEEPSIE, Aug. 4—[Special.]—Cornelius Brown, colored, is in jail, charged with having committed a criminal assault on Miss Sarah L, Stevens of Wappinger’s Falls, by whose brother Brown was employed. The negro knocked Miss Stevens down and besides tearing her clothing almost completely from her body, lacerated her right leg from the hip to the knee.
