Former United States Senator Joseph M. Carey, father of the so-called Carey enlarged homestead act, is an independent candidate for governor of Wyoming, declared himself in opposition to the “bosses” of both parties. Mr. Carey’s platform advocated the direct primary law, a corrupt practices act and the election of United States senators direct.
