A NEGRO PREACHER’S CRIME
-------
He Poisons His Wife and Children and His Paramour’s Husband
-------
ATLANTA, Sept. 8.— Rev. William Boone, colored, who is in the Calhoun county jail, charged with the poisoning of the family of ten on his plantation, three of whom are dead, has a record as a male Borgia. His wife made a confession, which recalls a number of mysterious deaths in Floyd county. Four years ago, Rev. William Boone, with a wife and two children settled in Floyd. He was attracted by the charms of Will McCarver’s wife. The woman returned the feeling. Quite suddenly Will McCarver, Mrs. Boone and her two children died. A few months later Boone married Mrs. McCarver, and the pair moved to Gordon County, where the recent tragedy took place. The former Mrs. McCarver is heartily tired of her change of her husbands and voluntarily tells the story of his crimes.
