John HERATH has taken out a permit to erect two two-story brick dwellings at 1535 and 1537 Twenty-fifth street, to cost about $2,500 each. C. H. WEISS will make improvements to his business property in Nichols avenue. James O. GUTHRIDGE will erect two two-story brick dwellings at 511 and 513 Alabama avenue, S. E. SNYDER doing the work. Annie P. THOMAS has taken out a permit to improve premises 717 Howard road. Addie W. CLAYBAUGH will erect a one-story frame structure at 1710 Twenty-second street.

Dr. and Mrs. Nathan HEALY have moved to Anacostia again, making their home with Dr. and Mrs. C. H. WEISS in Nichols avenue.

Rev. Edgar G. CARPENTER, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, Alexandria, occupied the pulpit in Emmanuel Church last night. Miss Marion KING sang a soprano solo as an offertory.

Mr. and Mrs. William H. COOK have again moved to Anacostia.

The Garden Memorial Presbyterian Church has completed its annual “every member” canvas, and is now engaged in compiling its budget for the ensuing year.

Mrs. JARBOE of Prince Georges county, Md., has been visiting in Anacostia.

The Embroidery Club of Anacostia was entertained yesterday by Mrs. William SCANTLEBURY. Those present were Mrs. SCANTLEBURY, Mrs. Edward F. WOOD, Mrs. W. W. TOLSON, Mrs. Thomas L. MOORE, Mrs. Ernest SELBY, Mrs. Harry DEWALT, Mrs. Ernest WHITE, Mrs. Edward FRISBIE, Mrs. R, D. FILLIUS, Mrs. S. D. FRAZIER, Miss Viola MALLETT, Mrs. Edmund MALLETT.
