As a result of the experiments made this year by Dr. Jefferson Wilcox, of Willacoochee, Ga., with Egyptian cotton seed, several farmers of Coffee County will endeavor to produce the Egyptian staple in another season. Dr. Wilcox's experiments have proven that the Egyptian seed will yield twice as much cotton per acre as the Sea Island, and 2 1/4 pounds of seed cotton will produce one pound of lint. The picking is much easier, the bolls the cotton more loosely than is the case with the ordinary blossom.--Textile Excelsior.
