Ten Are Killed in Rush of Wind Tornadoes in Oklahoma Cause Death and Injury Among Country Folk Missing Baby Believed To Have Been Blown Away

Wichita, Kan., May 27. Ten dead, 12 injured, several fatally, hundreds of head of cattle killed, a vast acreage of crops destroyed, ruin and desolation, are the results of a series of tornadoes that visited Alfalfa County, Okla., last night.

The dead:

Mrs. Guy Hitchison and baby.
Peter Rudy, wife, and two children.
Mrs. Elliott.
Mrs. Parker and baby.
E. E. Atchison.

Fatally injured: Fred Parker, Mrs. Wars, Daniel Deals, Rev. R. D. Cox and Mrs. Frank Ice and baby.

The storm's center seemed to enter the county from the west-north-northeast. every obstruction was leveled.

The babe of Mrs. Guy N. Hitchison has not been found. It is believed the wind carried it away or that it is buried in the ruins of the home.
