Buried Under a Mass of Debris While Looking at a Burned Building

LYNCHBURG, Va., Oct. 2. – Gen. Jubal A. Early was standing in front of a building on Main Street Tuesday, which was recently burned, when suddenly the wall fell, burying him in a mass of debris. He was rescued in about twenty minutes, only slightly hurt, from under some large timbers which held the debris from his body. It was a narrow escape from death for the famous warrior.
