Oldest District Employe Married 60 Years Today

Employes of the Engineer Department united today in congratulating George H. BAILEY, the oldest employe in the service of the District government, on the sixtieth anniversary of his wedding.
Surrounded by his children, grandchildren and friends, Mr. and Mrs. BAILEY will hold a quiet celebration at their home, 2618 Thirteenth street northwest, tonight. A wagon load of flowers, the gift of employes of the surface division, was sent from the District building to the house this morning. Mr. BAILEY is eighty-seven years old, and his wife is eighty. Since his appointment as computing engineer of the District in 1877 he has taken an active part in engineering matters of the District, and now holds the position of senior assistant engineer in the office of the engineer of highways.
