Chicago’s Prominent Business Man and President of the World Fair
Leaves the Democratic Party and Comes Out for McKinley
William T. Baker, ex-president of the Chicago Board of Trade, and of the World’s Fair, and one of the leading Democrats of Chicago, has made an open statement of his purpose to vote for McKinley this fall. In a letter made public to-day, he makes a powerful attack against Bryans, whom he says personifies 16 to 1 and lawlessness, and is the greatest imperialist” since Napoleon Bonaparte.
