Says the Clayton Record:
“Mr. Sumpter Lea, expert mineralogist, from Birmingham, the agent of H. F. Debardelebin, accompanied by Mr. Standifer, representative of the Pennsylvania Oil Company, visited the ore fields of Mr. J. W. Floyd, near Clayton, on February 22. They came with the view or making a thorough investigation, and seemed pleased with the result. Mr. Lea is expected to return shortly and then will begin the establishment of a plant for the manufacture of the ores that abound so plenteously in the section of our county near Baker Hill.
