Many Entertainments Are Planned By Leaders of Society in Washington. Gossip of Hostesses and Visitors.

Mrs. Frederick KEEP, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam [sp.] J. BOARDMAN, will entertain informally at dinner this evening, when former President William Howard TAFT will be among her guests. Two addresses before the National Geographic Society yesterday, a meeting of the Bar Association, memorial services for the late Justice LURTON, this morning, at the Supreme Court, and the laying of the cornerstone of the Red Cross Building this afternoon have so occupied Judge TAFT's time that there have been no special entertainments arranged in his honor and this will be the only function of a social nature in which he will participate.
Judge TAFT will leave Washington tomorrow morning for New York. While in Washington he is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. William J. BOARDMAN.

Mrs. MARTINE, wife of Senator James E. MARTINE, of New Jesey [sp.] entertained at a luncheon today in honor of Miss Helen DAY, of Orange, N. J. Among the guests were Mrs. Robert PAGE, Mrs. John HENDERSON, Mrs. Thaddeus PAGE, Mrs. James REED, Mrs. Henry L. MYERS, Mrs. Robert La FOLLETTE, Mrs. William KENT and Miss Agnes Hart WILSON.

The chief event of this afternoon as of yesterday will be the exhibition drill and polo match to be held in the riding hall at Fort Myer for the benefit of the Army Y. M. C. A., which will be followed by a tea dance in the administration building. Yesterday the drill attracted a large and distinguished attendance. Capt. Duncan ELLIOT, of Fort Myer, and a number of fellow officers assisted in receiving those who had seats in the box of honor.
This afternoon Mrs. Willia mC. [sp.] GORGAS will do the honors at the tea table.

A number of hospitalities have been arranged in compliment to Miss Genevieve WALSH, daughter of Senator and Mrs. Thomas J. WALSH, whose marriage to Paymaster Emmet GUDGER, U. S. N., will take place on Easter Monday afternoon. Miss Dorothy DENNETT will give a dinner for her on Thursday evening, April 1; she will be the guest of honor at a luncheon for which Mrs. W. W. DIXON will be hostess on April 3; Paymaster GUDGER will give a dinner-dance aboard the Mayflower on April 3 in honor of the bridal party, and on Sunday evening, the day preceding the wedding, Senator and Mrs. WALSH will entertain the bridal party at dinner.

Mrs. J. O. RICHARDSON, wife of Commander RICHARDSON, U. S. N., will entertain at bridge in compliment to her sister, Miss Louise FINET, of Paris, Tex., on the afternoons of April 13 and 14.
Miss FINET was the guest of honor at a dinner which Commander and Mrs. RICHARDSON gave Thursday night at the Army and Navy Club.

Miss Hildreth GATEWOOD has cards out for a luncheon on April 14 at 1:30 o'clock, in compliment to Miss Ruth BLISS, who will be married to Capt. Lewis Hayes WATKINS, U. S. A., early in May.

Miss Jean WILSON delighted a large audience at the Ladies' Night at the University Club last evening, when she gave a series of monologues, including a “Sketch of University Life,” and a society sketch, written especially for her by Mrs. Albert Sidney BURLESON. Miss WILSON was accompanied by Mrs. M. M. PARKER, wife of the president of the University Club.

Mrs. Fielding Lewis MARSHALL is entertained informally this afternoon at a tea at her residence on P street in compliment to her sister, Mrs. Charles STOKES, of Richmond.
Mrs. Berkeley WARD, Mrs. Charles SAWTELLE, jr., and Mrs. Paulding MURDOCK are presiding at the tea table.

Mrs. Gordon ROBINSON, wife of Captain ROBINSON, U. S. A., was hostess at a luncheon this afternoon complimentary to Mrs. Fred BAUER, who is visiting Mr. and Mr. W. H. FRANKLIN at the Woodley. The other guests were Mrs. William C. HARLEE, Mrs. W. H. FRANKLIN, Mrs. William F. HASE, and Miss Imogen FULMORE.
Mrs. ROBINSON took her guests later to B. F. KEITH's.

Major Andrew MOSES, U. S. A., and Mrs. MOSES will entertain at a bridge and supper party tonight at their apartment in the Toronto.

Mrs. G. W. OGILBIE, of New York, who is spending some time at the New Willard, will entertain at a box party at the National Monday night, taking her guests later to the supper-dance at the New Willard.
