Hon. L. W. Turpin, Congressman from the Fourth Alabama district, has been so fortunate as to get a bill passed to increase the pension of Z. S. Cook, of Wilcox county, form $25 to $72 a month. Mr. Cook is represented as exceedingly infirm, unable in fact, to take care of himself. He is a veteran of the Mexican war, and greatly needs the increase in his pension.
