FAMOUS GASTON FAMILY
CENTRALIA, ILL., Sept. 13.—The famous Gaston family, which has settled largely in and around this city, began its annual reunion at Mount Moriah church, six miles from here, today. There are 900 members of the family, and they are all descendants of William Gaston, a revolutionary soldier. He was a descendant of Gascon de Foix, who traced his lineage to Louis XII, of France. William Gaston died in 1838. The records show the following descendant of this old patriot: Nine children, fifty-five grandchildren, 350 great-grandchildren, 700 great-great-grandchildren, and 180 great-great-great-grandchildren, a total of 1300, nearly 400 of whom are dead. The reunion will close tonight.
