Emory & Henry College, Washington County, List of 1845 Graduates

At the recent commencement of the above flourishing institution, the degree of Bachelor of Arts was conferred upon the following young gentlemen, members of the Senior Class, viz: James A. Davis and John B. Mitchell of Smyth County; William B. Egan, Pittsylvania County; Andrew J. Fleming and Nathaniel N. Fleming, Rowan County, NC; William T. Gannaway, Wythe County; James D. Gwyn, Surry County, NC; Richard H. Rives and John W. Whitmore, Fayette County, Tenn.; Sterling F. Watts, Albemarle County; and Robert H. Wyche, Granville County, NC.

The honorary degree of Master of Arts was conferred on the Rev. David R. McAnnally of Knoxville, Tenn.

The next session of the college will commence on Thursday, the 21st of August. The entire expenses for board, tuition, washing, and rooms do not exceed $18.00 per session of five months. Probably no similar institution in the State is more delightfully situated or more worthy of public patronage than this.
