Death of Colonel H. D. Flood

The Lynchburg papers of yesterday announce the death on Sunday last of Colonel H. D. Flood, at his residence in Amherst County. He was a native of Appomattox County, but removed to Lynchburg in 1854, where he resided until 1865, when he became a resident of Amherst County. In 1847 he was elected a member of the Legislature from Appomattox, and in 1856-7 held the position of editor of the Lynchburg Republican. He was also for a number of years a prominent member of the Lynchburg bar.
