Sad Accident. On Wednesday, a Scotch sailor named Francis Duff fell from the mast of the schooner "George V. Scott," now at the wharf at Petersburg, and hurt himself internally and severely.

Robbery. The store of John Q. Sloan of Fredericksburg was robbed Wednesday night of $100 worth of goods. A man named Taylor of Caroline County has been arrested for it.

The Fair. The Marshall County Agricultural, Horticultural, and Mechanical Fair will be held on Thursday and Friday, the 16the an 17th days of October, in the enclosure containing the Indian Mound.
