A SUNDAY SCHOOL PRIZE
-------
Girl, Striving For a Bicycle, Finds Twenty-three New Pupils
--------
Alice Lindsay, a pupil in the New Holiness Tabernacle Sunday school on Western Avenue, lacks only two scholars from getting a bicycle, says the Chicago Times-Herald. The Sunday school superintendent offered a bicycle in good repair to the scholar who would bring 25 new pupils to the school. Alice has 23 on her list. What methods Miss Lindsay used to get the new scholars, whether by hypnotism, chloroform of the promise of a ride on the new wheel, is not stated. That she is an energetic young person is shown by the fact that a few days ago she carried off the prize of $1 for the best drawing of the whale that swallowed Jonah.
The other day a prize of $1 was given for the best selected verse in the Scriptures. Fourteen other prizes of less value were given other contestants.
