Not A Populist
-------
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22.—C. C. Powning, of Reno, Nev., says that Senator Jones has indicated his future course to his friends. He says that Jones has not joined the Populist Party, but has gone over to the silver party of Nevada. In the meantime Jones will disregard the demands of the republican committee that he resign at once, because that would give the governor an opportunity to appoint a republican as Jones’ successor. For this reason he will wait until the Nevada legislature meets and then resign, offering himself as a candidate to serve out his own expired term.
