Smothered in Cotton Seed
William Henry Richardson, a colored employee of the Barnwell Oil Mill, was found dead on Wednesday morning of last week. It seems his work was in an outer room and consisted in removing the hulls as they fell. It is supposed that he was under the influence of whiskey and, falling into a drunken sleep, was submerged and smothered by the accumulating cotton seed hulls. The verdict of the coroner's jury was in accord with the facts as stated.
