SHOE PEGS.—Mr. Robert J. Smith, of Harris county, seeing the great want of shoe pegs caused by the blockade, invented a machine of his own for turning out pegs, which succeeded so well that he now has three of the machines at work, making about 21 bushels of pegs per day. He has contracted to supply an extensive shoe establishments of this city consistently and intends soon to increase the number and capacity of his machines to such an extent that he can supply all demands.—(Columbus (Ga.)
