Asks For Safe Christmas
Montgomery.—State Fire Marshall W. J. Williams, issued an appeal to all citizens, that they make the coming Christmas celebration, above all, a safe and sane one. He asks that care be taken not to place Christmas trees near open fireplaces or gas jets and that the greatest care be taken in the use of candle decorations. Bu the Christmas tree is not the only source of danger from the fire demon, it seems. The fire marshal calls attention to the fact that both in stores and at home, materials used for decorating are for the most part highly inflammable, a fact which should always be borne in mind, he says.
