Harry Webber, the Cook County Democrat,
Goes on His Way Rejoicing.
(Special Dispatch to The Times)
DANVILLE, VA., Feb. 13.--Henry Webber, the Cook County, Democrat, who tried to take his own life here, left Danville to-day. It was a little earlier than he should have gone perhaps had he yielded lo consideration of prudence, but it seems he has been very apprehensive for the last day or two for fear of arrest for having attempted suicide.
He has exhibited much solicitude on the subject, and it was apparently difficult for him to credit the assurance of one of the hotel proprietors who was his sole attendant that he would not be disturbed. From all accounts, his happiness was almost boundless when he finally found himself aboard the train without molestation by the authorities.
The knife with which he cut himself, and which he had owned for twenty years or more, he gave to the hotel man who attended him, and asked him to throw it away where it could never be found by anyone. At the last lie seemed not to have had any very good reason for cutting himself.
