Gadsden.—Charles P. Smith, of this city, has been appointed by Governor O’Neal as a member of the board of control of the Alabama School of Trade and Industries which will be established at Ragland, Ala. Mr. Smith went to Ragland to attend a meeting of the Board which will be organized and plans will be made to get the school ready for operation. The school was conceived by Senator Watt T. Brown, of Ragland, and he succeeded in getting an appropriation of $50,000 for it. The board of control is comprised of Charles P. Smith, Gadsden; _. G. Moore, Birmingham; W. W. Screws, Montgomery; McClain Tolton, Pell City, and W. T. Brown, Ragland.
