Colonel Robert B. Phillips, commanding officer of Harbor Defenses of Delaware Bay, has
announced that the 16 inch guns at Fort Miles will be fired tomorrow morning. This will be
the first test of the 16 inch cannon.
Householders of the area are warned of the concussion from the firing of the guns. Merchants
are told to make provisions caring of plate glass windows which could be shattered by the
