MRS. KIRKLAND HONORED
Mrs. Orin Kirkland of Montgomery, was especially honored by the delegates to the annual convention of the Alabama Federation of Woman’s Clubs held at Mobile, in having her paper selected from hundreds of others to be read at the next meeting of the Federation. Mrs. Kirkland chose as her subject, “A Comparative Study of Tennyson and Browning,” which she trusted in so masterly a manner that she bore off the honors in this interesting competition between club women of the state.
Mrs. Kirkland is a member of the twentieth Century club of Montgomery, which is one of the youngest literary organizations in Alabama, having been formed in 1908. This club joined the state federation in 1909. The next convention of the federation will be held at Decatur.
