Funeral service for Miss Eva K. Smith, age 70, who died at her sister home, Mrs C. Pritchett in Delmar, last Friday,

were held from her Union Street, Milton home with Rev William McDaniel, Rev Milton Elliott, Rev Harold Davis, officiating, and burial in Odd Fellows


Eva K. Smith was born 15 February 1876 in Berlin, Maryland to William J. and Amanda Ellen Stephens Smith. Miss Smith

did not marry. For 43 years she operated her millinery shop on Union Street, near the William Welch store, and was the chief

telephone operator at Milton for 30 years. Eve was a member of the Goshen Methodist Church, president of the Fisher Bible

Class, and president of the Milton New Century Club. Surviving are Mrs Pritchet, her sister, and four brothers, John, Harry,

and James of Milton and Lee of Richardson Park.
