Lewes Delaware November 1

Members of the Delaware River & Bay Pilots Association compose largely the list of pallbearers for Captain Harry Virden Lyons,

who died Monday night at his home in Lewes.

At the service in the St. Peters Episcopal Church, where the late pilot served as Senior Warden, the pallbearers were J. Lyons

Richardson, John M. Richardson, Louis Chambers, George Chambers, Sr., George Chambers, Jr., Ralph Richardson, Sr., Ralph

Richardson, Jr., and F. Irvin Walls, standing in for Captain Fred Burton, a contemporary of Captain Lyons in the sailing vessels

era. Rev. De. Nelson Waite Rightmyer conducted the service attended by many state officials of the Republican Party. Burial was

in the church yard in the family plot beside the two sons who died as infants.
