Addaline Peck was born in Monroe county, Tennessee, August 6th, 1841; departed this life June 5th, 1917.
She was married to M. A. Stites August 16, 1863, in Dent county, Mo. To this union were born seven children, five boys and two girls, all living, three of her sons being with her at time of death.
Mrs. Stites joined a Baptist church about 35 years ago and was baptized in what is now known as Barnitz lake and lived in that church the rest of her life.
They came to Texas county about 26 years ago, lived on Arthurs Creek several years, then went to Howell county and stayed a while, then came back here and bought the McGoodwin farm and lived there two years, then returned to Howell county.
Mrs. Stites' health began to fail before they left the farm. She had heart trouble, dropsy. They brought her back here to her son Will's May 30th, as she wanted to come back.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. C. Harper at Liberty and then she was laid away to that long rest that knows no awakening here, amid a large crowd of relatives and friends.
