Drowned in Philadelphia. Mr. Lee Sockkriter of Angola was drowned on last Thursday in Philadelphia. Mr. Sockrite was employed on one of the river tugs and in taking a line on the wharf fell overboard and drowned. After the body was recovered and the coroner held an inquest and the jury's verdict was that in falling he hit a piling that caused his death. The remains were brought to his fathers home in Broadkill on Monday and funueral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Conley's Chapel, the Rev Mr. Ellis of Rehoboth M. E. Church officiating. The deceased was a member of the Fairmount Council Junior Order of United American Mechanics and the Senior Order Mechanics, which elders Rev William Mowbray and Mr. Robert Burton, conducted burial services at the grave. He was interred in the adjoining cemetery of Conleys Chapel.
