Hartselle Hotel
We call attention in this issue to the “ad” of the Hartselle Hotel. It is being repaired and put in a first-class condition. Mr. J. P. Ca__ the proprietor and is taking pains to make if a first class hotel.
Quarterly Conference
Quarterly Conference of the Methodist church convened Saturday and Sunday. The attendance was small. A good deal of interest was manifested by those present. Rev. R. A. Timmons, the P. E., presided in his usual dignified manner.
The D. & M. Abstract Company
In this issue we call special attention to the “ad” of “The Decatur & Morgan County Abstract Company.” It is perfectly reliable and we respectfully recommend it to our readers. Mr. F. A. Rudolph, a splendid young attorney, has charge of the office. He is polite and obliging and will attend all business entrusted to him promptly.
On The Road
Mr. W. A. Boger, who has been for a number of years one of Hartselle’s leading mercantile spirits, has accepted a position as a traveling representative of Seasongood, Menderson & Co., one of the largest clothing houses in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Boger will travel throughout North Alabama, he is a thorough-going as well as a wide-awake business man and we wish him success in his new field of labor.
What a Nashville Man
Thinks of Hartselle.
Mr. C. B. Holman, a prominent commercial traveler of Nashville, representing Bell Bros.’ tobacco manufacturers, spent Sunday in town with that whole souled gentleman, Mr. J. S. Mitchel. Mr. Holman expressed himself highly pleased with all he had seen in and around the place and considers it one of the prettiest small towns in Alabama. We are glad to note that it is possible that he will locate here. We say welcome, thrice welcome.
An Excellent Work
Mr. W. B. Kemper, a splendid representative of Messrs. Teeple Smith & DeLand of Birmingham publishers of a comprehensive treatise upon the topography, geology and natural resources of North Alabama, and a historical sketch of the various counties towns and prominent men, is in Hartselle in the interest of this excellent work, which will be a very valuable addition to Alabama literature. Since his stay in our town we have found him to be a pleasant and intelligent gentleman in every respect and we highly recommend him as such wherever he may go. The work he is engaged in is praiseworthy and will be very valuable to future his organs.
