Negroes of Tallapoosa County, Ala., have petitioned Judge Jones, of the Federal Court, to recommend the pardon of G. D. and B. F. Crosby, white men, who are serving sentences in the Atlanta Penitentiary for practicing peonage on negroes. The petitioners says that the prosecutions have stopped the practice of peonage in their section.
