PERSONAL AND GENERAL
ROBERT EVAN SPROULE, a citizen of the United States, was hanged at Victoria, B. C, on the 29th for the murder of Thomas Hammil, in June, 1883, in the Kootenay mines. The condemned man ascended the scaffold without a tremor and made a short speech protesting his innocence.
