Searcy, June 13th, 1844

Died, on the 10th instant, at 5 minutes after 1 o'clock, A.M., at the residence of Jesse TERRY, near this place, after a long and painful illness, which she bore with Christian fortitude, Mrs. Mary COMBS, consort of the Rev. Doctor COMBS, in the 42nd year of her age, leaving a disconsolate husband and five children, (the youngest at the breast,) to mourn her irreparable loss. In the death of this amiable woman, the afflicted family are bereft of an affectionate wife and a kind and indulgent mother, and society of one of its brightest ornaments, being kind to all and beloved by all. She lived a pious and Christian's life, and resigned her latest breath in the triumphs of faith.
