Wm. Sales, son of John and Rebecca Sales, was born the 10th day of May, 1842, in the state of Kentucky and departed this life on the 15th day of April, 1936, being 93 years, 11 months and 5 days of age.

He was united in marriage to Miss Francis Davis when a young man, and to this union three children were born, who with the mother preceded him in death.

He was later united in marriage to Miss Mary Buckle, about 60 years ago. to this union were born six children, 4 boys and 2 girls. Two of these, a boy and a girl, died in infancy. The deceased leaves to mourn his death, Mrs. Clara Burnia of Flat River, Michael Sales of Esther, Benjamin Sales of Flat River, and John Sales of Knob Lick; besides 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

He became a Christian early in life and later united with the Free Will Baptist Church in Leadington, of which he was a faithful member till the time of his death.

The funeral was held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clara Burnia, by Rev. Oda Halbrooks of Leadington, with Caldwell Bros. in charge, and burial was made in the Mine LaMotte cemetery.
