Mrs. Mary Williams Martin was born March 4, 1858, in Jackson County, Tennessee, and departed this life at 2 p.m. May 26, 1936, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ira Williford, of Elvins. Mrs. Martin had been ill only nineteen days.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wade Freeman, pastor of the Elvins Baptist church, Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. Burial was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Bismarck under the direction of Caldwell Funeral service.
In 1880 she was married to Robert Martin and ten children were born to this union, three dying in infancy. The surviving are Rose (Mrs. Monroe) Nelson, Susie (Mrs. George) Floyd and Sam of Boss, Mo.; Lula (Mrs. Sid) Barton and George of Cadet, Mo.; Pearl (Mrs. Henry) Dennis of flat River; and Bell (Mrs. Ira) Williford of Elvins. She is also survived by two brothers, Arthur Williams of Cadet and Sate Williams of Marcoot, Mo.
