It has been given out that Col. W. A. Percy, of Greenville, has imposed upon himself the task of organizing and leading the opposition to President Cleveland in this State. If this opposition is to be founded upon the President’s refusal to be a party to the attempted raid upon the treasury by means of the rivers and harbors bill, it is not calculated to secure a very large following. We never expect to secure a very large following. We never expect to support Mr. Cleveland again as a Democrat, but we are with him, body, soul and breeches, in his efforts to guard the people’s money against the treasury raiders, no matter what they call themselves.
