James S. STOUT was born in Washington County, Mo., December 14, 1864, and died at his home in Elvins, July 11, 1936, aged 72 years, 6 months and 27 days. When a young man Mr. STOUT came to Elvins and had lived in and near there since.

He is survived by seven children. They are: Fred STOUT of Elvins, Blanche STOUT, Mrs. Rose EOFF and Mrs. Mamie FATCHETT of St. Louis, William STOUT, Mrs. Goldie GRAY and Mrs. Clara REEDER of Detroit Michigan. Four children preceded him in death.

Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at three o'clock at the Caldwell Funeral Home by Rev. Wade FREEMAN, pastor of the Elvins Baptist church, and burial was made in the Woodlawn cemetery.
