Lucy Jane Summers, daughter of the late William and Lucy Bever Summers passed away at her home in Ste. Genevieve County southeast of Esther, on Thursday July 16th.

The deceased was born in Johnson County, Ill., on March 4, 1865. It was there that she spent her girlhood years and on July 2, 1883, was married to Samuel P. Mills. To this union six children were born, five of whom survive her. These are Calvin H. and Albert L. Mills of St. Louis, Maude (Mrs. J. L. Rayfield of Reynolds County; Mable (Mrs. C. C.) Johnson and Sterling of Farmington. Another son, Samuel H., preceded her in death.

Besides her husband and the five children, she is survived by twenty grandchildren. At the time of her death she was 71 years, 4 months and 12 days of age.

Funeral services were held at the Salem church near Farmington t 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. J. W. McKinney of Esther, assisted by Rev. Daugherty of Farmington and Rev. Jenkins of Bismarck. Interment was made in the Salem cemetry.
