Mrs. Leo F. Smith passed away at her home near Farmington on July 11th, after an illness of some duration at the age of 62 years and 4 months.

The deceased was born March 11, 1874, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hinkle of Lawrenceton, Mo. On March 19, 1909 she was united in marriage to Leo F. Smith, who with her three children survive. The children are: Bessie of Carbondale, Ill., Messie of Flat River and Franklin, who was living at home. Her two step children are Emmett Smith of Flat River and Genevieve (Mrs. S. _ relatives are a sister, Mrs. N. E. O.) Blaylock of Decatur, Ala. Oth - Ramsey, of Farmington; and two brothers, Gideon Hinkle of Cantwell and Bert Hinkle of Bonne Terre.

She affiliated herself with the Methodist church when nineteen years old and has since been a faithful member.
