Lewes Delaware 10 February 1985 :

Bernice Packett Houston, Lewes, died Friday in Beebe Hospital. She was born in Warsaw Virginia, taught in rural schools for 47 years also in Lewes schools, served as principal of Ellendale School. She was owner and operator of the Red Mill Motel since 1950,
she was an Elder of the Lewes Presbyterian Church, member of Chamber of Commerce, the DAR Colonel Hall Chapter, was president
of the Children of American Revolution chapter in Lewes.
Her husband, John W Houston, died in 1958, survived by brothers, Benjamin and Louis Packett of Warsaw, five sisters, Floris Rice,
of Lewes, Alma Pedersen and Bertie Bryant of Warsaw, Hazel Bryant of Suitland, Maryland and Mildred Lewis of Richmond. Services at Lewes Presbyterian Church, burial in Warsaw Baptist Church Cemetery.
