J. W. Dee, a respectable white citizen of Montgomery, died suddenly from the effects of a dose of chloroform. The drug was administered by a physician for the purpose of performing a surgical operation. Dee was in very delicate health, and his system being too weak to resist the influences of the drug, he died from its effect.
